Family Of Commercial EnginesDescription of Change: Two new oil jet tube assemblies replace the former oil cooling jet assemblies used to oil cool the engine piston crowns. The new oil jet tube assemblies are fabricated, while the former oil cooling jet assemblies were cast. The new oil jet tube assemblies provide improved oil flow patterns.Adaptable To: The new 116-3253 Oil Jet Tube Assembly is a direct replacement for the former 7E-4069 Oil Cooling Jet Assembly. These assemblies are used only with the forged steel, two piece piston crown. These crowns are: 4P-4031, 7E-8019, 9Y-7027, 6I-3019, 6I-2862, 114-0382, 121-0463. The 4P-4031, 7E-8019, 9Y-7027, 6I-3019, 6I-2862, and 114-0382 Piston Crowns have been canceled and replaced by the 121-0463 Piston Crown.The new 116-3254 Oil Jet Tube Assembly is a direct replacement for the former 9Y-4121 Oil Cooling Jet Assembly. These assemblies are used only with 7C-2431 Pistons (cast aluminum, one piece), and 9Y-2100, 9Y-4124 Pistons (electron beam welded, one piece).
The former 7E-4069 and 9Y-4121 Oil Cooling Jet Assemblies are canceled.
The former 7C-6146 Piston Crown (cast steel, two piece) requires the 7C-3710 Oil Cooling Jet. If the 7C-6146 Piston Crown is replaced with any of the forged steel, two piece piston above, the 7C-3710 Oil Cooling Jet must also be replaced with a new 116-3253 Oil Jet Tube Assembly.
