Turn the fuel supply and the power disconnect switch to the OFF position.

Remove primary fuel filter assembly (2) from the fuel filter base. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Fuel System Primary Filter (Water Separator) Element - Clean/Replace".
Disconnect hose assemblies and harness assemblies from the primary filter assembly. Remove filter base (1) .

Remove bolts (4) and manifold (5) .
Remove plug (3) .

Remove nuts (7) and disconnect harness assemblies (6) .

Remove pump assembly (12) from the housing assembly.
Remove seal (8), backup ring (9), seal (10), and backup ring (11) from pump assembly (12). Remove harness assembly (6) from the housing assembly.

Remove fitting (14) from pump assembly (12). Remove O-ring seal (16) and backup ring (15). Remove O-ring seal (13) from inside fitting (14) .

Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.
Remove plug (17), O-ring seal (18), spring (19), check valve (21), and O-ring seal (22). Repeat with plug (20) .
Remove stud (23) .

Note: Note the orientation of solenoid (26) for installation purposes.
Remove nut (24), solenoid assembly (26), and cartridge assembly (27). Remove check valve (25) .

Remove O-ring seal (28), O-ring seal (29), and backup ring (30) from cartridge assembly (27) .

Remove O-ring seal (31), backup ring (32), and O-ring seal (33) from check valve (25) .Installation Procedure
Install the fuel priming pump in the reverse order.
Tighten check valve (25) to a torque of 28 3 N m (21 2 lb ft).
Tighten cartridge assembly (27) to a torque of 28 3 N m (21 2 lb ft).
Tighten nut (24) to a torque of 6.5 0.5 N m (58 4 lb in).
Tighten plug (17) and plug (20) to a torque of 95 10 N m (70 7 lb ft).
Apply Tooling (A) to the threads of stud (23) before installation. Tighten stud (23) to a torque of 50 5 N m (37 4 lb ft).
Tighten plug (3) to a torque of 11 2 N m (97 18 lb in).
