Information:

Do not drain the oil when the engine is cold. As the oil cools, suspended waste particles settle on the bottom of the oil pan. The waste particles are not removed with the draining cold oil. Drain the crankcase with the engine stopped. Drain the crankcase with the oil warm. This draining method allows the waste particles that are suspended in the oil to be drained properly.Failure to follow this recommended procedure will cause the waste particles to be recirculated through the engine lubrication system with the new oil.Interval for Engine Oil and Engine Oil Filter Change
Note: The intervals stated in table 1 are only valid when preferred lubricants are used. Using fluids other than the preferred fluids causes the engine to operate in a severe service application. Refer to this Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Severe Service Application" for information about the effect of using fluids which are not preferred on the maintenance intervals.Refer to this Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Refill Capacities" before this procedure is started in order to determine the following:
The type of oil pan
The refill capacity for engine oil
