2. Release the pressure in the implement hydraulic circuits (the boom, the stick and the bucket) before any of the hydraulic lines or any of the components are disconnected or removed. Release the pressure as follows:a. Shut off the engine and place key in the "ON" position. Put the hydraulic activation control lever in the "UNLOCK" position.b. Move the control levers for the boom, the stick and the swing to all full stroke positions. This will release any pressure that might be present in the pilot system.c. Return the key to "OFF" position.d. Slowly loosen the fill plug on the hydraulic tank, and release the pressure.e. Tighten the fill plug on the hydraulic tank.f. The pressure in the hydraulic system has been released, the lines and the components can be removed.
View From Under Machine3. Remove five bolts (1), the washers and cover plate (2) from under the cab.
View From Under Cab4. Oil will drain from the six hose assemblies that are connected to the travel pilot control valve when they are disconnected. Place a drain pan under the travel pilot control valve to contain the draining oil.5. Put identification marks on six hose assemblies (3) that are connected to travel pilot control valve (4) for installation purposes. Disconnect the six hose assemblies from the travel pilot control valve. Put plugs in the ends of the hose assemblies to prevent loss of oil and to keep contaminants out of the hydraulic system. 6. Open the cab door, and lock it in the "Open" position.7. Remove screws (5) and guard (6) from the cab.8. Roll floor mat (7) away from the pedals of the travel pilot control valve. 9. Remove four bolts (10) that hold travel pilot control valve (4) to the floor of the operators platform. Remove control lever assemblies (8), pedal assemblies (9) and travel pilot control valve (4), as a unit, from the machine. The following steps are for the installation of the pilot control valve (travel).10. Check the condition of all of the O-ring seals used in the ends of the six hose assemblies (3). If any of the O-ring seals are damaged, use new parts for replacement.11. Install travel pilot control valve (4) in the reverse order of the removal.12. Tighten six hose assemblies (3) to a torque of 40 5 N m (30 4 lb ft). Refer to the topic "Lubricant Viscosities and Refill Capacities" in the "Operation & Maintenance Manual" for the proper filling procedure and the proper levels for the hydraulic oil system.13. Fill the hydraulic oil tank with oil to the correct level.14. Start machine, and check for leaks. Check the operation of the travel pilot control valve.15.
