Removal Procedure
Pressurized fluids can cause injury or death.Before disassembling any lines, controls, or accumulator, be sure that the pilot system hydraulic accumulator pressure is zero.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contamination of the hydraulic system with foreign material will reduce the service life of the hydraulic system components.To prevent contaminants from entering the hydraulic system, always plug or cap the lines, fittings, or hoses as they are disconnected. Cover any disassembled components and clean them properly before assembly.Clean the hydraulic system properly after any major component exchange or especially after a component failure, to remove any contamination.

Relieve the pressure in the hydraulic system. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Release of Pressure in the Hydraulic System".
Disconnect tube (1) at the bottom of accumulator (2).
Remove accumulator (2) and the mounting plate from the swing frame. Installation Procedure
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before installation, all components and mating surfaces should be thoroughly clean. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement. Inspect all gaskets and seals. If any gaskets or seals are damaged or worn, use new gaskets or seals for replacement. All installation procedures should be performed in a clean work area.

Install accumulator (2) and the mounting plate on the swing frame.
Connect tube (1) at the bottom of accumulator (2). Note: Inspect the O-ring seal that is used with tube (1). If necessary, replace the O-ring seal.
Check the hydraulic oil level. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic System Oil Level - Check".
