Remove plug (1) from the fuel tank. Drain the fuel in the fuel tank into an appropriate container. The capacity of the fuel tank is 3221 L (851 US gal).Note: Use 5P-3413 Pipe Sealant on the threads of plug (2) prior to installation.
Install plug (1) to the fuel tank after the fuel tank has been drained.

Remove dust cover (2) from the fast fill fuel adapter.

Remove fast fill fuel adapter (3) from fuel tank (4) .

Remove four bolts (5) and the washers that secure fuel level sensor (6) to fuel tank (4). Remove fuel level sensor (6) from fuel tank (4) .

Remove six bolts (7) and the washers that secure guard (8) to fuel tank (4). Remove guard (8) from fuel tank (4) .

Disconnect wiring harness (9) at the electrical connection.

Remove four bolts (10) and the washers that secure fuel level sensor (11) to fuel tank (4). Remove fuel level sensor (11) and the float from fuel tank (4) .Note: The float will fall from the tank when fuel level sensor (11) is removed.

Remove bolt (12) and the washer that secures the clip and wiring harness (9) to fuel tank (4). Position wiring harness (9) for the removal of fuel tank (4) .

Disconnect hose assembly (13) from fuel tank (4). Disconnect hose assembly (14) from the fuel shutoff valve.

Remove two bolts (15), the hard washers, two washers (16), the mountings, and the locknuts that secure fuel tank (4) to bracket assembly (17).

Loosen hose clamp (18) that secures hose assembly (19) to vent assembly (20). Disconnect hose assembly (19) from vent assembly (20) .

Position a suitable lifting device to the lifting brackets on fuel tank (4). Secure the suitable lifting device to a hoist.

Remove two locking bolts (21) and the hard washers that secure cap (22) to the bracket assembly on the frame. Remove cap (22) from the bracket assembly.
Identify shim pack (23) under cap (22). Measure the thickness of shim pack (23) under cap (22) for installation purposes.
Repeat Steps 16 and 17 for the remaining side of fuel tank (4) .
Remove fuel tank (4) from the frame. The weight of fuel tank (4) is 1260 kg (2778 lb).
