The engine air filter service indicator is located in the engine compartment on the right side of the machine.
Use a towel in order to remove the dust which has collected on the indicator. Inspect the engine air filter service indicator.
Service the air cleaner only with the engine stopped. Engine damage could result.
If the indicator sight glass window is red, the air cleaner must be serviced.Note: Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Air Filter Primary Element - Clean/Replace" and Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Air Filter Secondary Element - Replace".
Once the air cleaner has been serviced, the indicator should be reset. Push in on the top of the indicator. The red area on the indicator will disappear. If you must press the top of the indicator more than three times in order to reset the indicator you should inspect the indicator for proper operation.
In order to inspect the condition of the indicator, start the engine and accelerate the engine to high idle for a few seconds. The piston inside the indicator should remain at the highest position that was achieved during acceleration. If the piston of the indicator will not latch at the highest vacuum that is attained, replace the service indicator.Note: The air filter indicator should be replaced during engine overhauls. The air filter indicator should also be replaced during replacement of any major engine component.
