Basic Operation
Set the operating mode to "Measure Mode". Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU8160, "Modes of Operation".
Press and hold the "Reset System" button (11) for 2 seconds in order to clear any stored benchmark and information for the laser.
Benchmark the bucket.
Move the boom / stick and bucket in order to take a measurement. The slope, elevation and reach information is displayed with respect to the benchmark.Note: The reach information is the horizontal distance and not the Slope distance from the benchmark.Benching in Measure Mode
When the system is first started in depth mode, before benching has occurred, the display will show dashes (--.--) in the Actual Elevation, Reach and Actual slope fields.Note: Benching in Measure Mode is independent of benching in other modes. For example, an operator can work in Depth Mode (benched), then switch to Measure Mode and take a measurement (including benching), then return to Depth Mode and continue working without losing the original bench information.
Upon exiting the Measure Mode, the measure mode bench information is lost.
In order to bench the system in Measure Mode, perform the following procedure.
Place the bucket teeth on the benchmark.Make sure that the benchmark is not moved.
Press the "Benchmark" button (11) .During the benching process the Actual Elevation and Reach values are set to zero.
