Failure to properly assemble parts or failure to follow established procedures can lead to damage of the parts and assembly.To avoid damage to parts, always identify and mark the parts so that they can be installed in the same location. Never force parts during assembly.
Failure to follow the recommended procedure or the specified tooling that is required for the procedure could result in damage to components.To avoid component damage, follow the recommended procedure using the recommended tools.
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the removal procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.
Check all of the O-ring seals and the components for wear or damage. Replace the components, if necessary.
Lubricate all of the O-ring seals lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.

Attach Tooling (A) to service and parking brake (1). Attach Tooling (A) to a suitable lifting device.
Use Tooling (A) and the lifting device to install service and parking brake (1). The weight of service and parking brake (1) is 1587 kg (3492 lb).
Remove Tooling (A) from service and parking brake (1).
Use Tooling (B) and Tool (C) in order to install 34 nuts (2) and the washers. Tighten 34 nuts (2) to a torque of 3100 350 N m (2286 258 lb ft). Note: Tooling (B) and Tool (C) are not shown. Place Tool (C) on a nut next to Tooling (B) and use as a point of reaction for Tooling (B).End By:
Install the rear wheel, the bearing, and the Duo-Cone seals. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Rear Wheel, Bearing, and Duo-Cone Seal - Install".
