Information:
 Prior to Removal.
1. Drain the oil from transmission by removing the plug on the rear side at the bottom (see figure 2-3).2. Mark the output flange and companion flange so they will always be assembled identically.3. Disconnect the output and companion flanges.4. Disconnect linkage, wiring, and plumbing and remove anything that would interfere with the removal of the transmission.5. Support the rear of the engine with blocks if necessary.6. Support the transmission with a hoist and remove the mounting capscrews.7. Remove the 12 capscrews that secure the transmission to the engine.8. Push the transmission away from the engine to remove the drive spider from the drive ring.

1. Remove the retaining capscrew from the end of the input shaft (see figure 6-4) and remove the retaining washer, shims and rubber ring.

Figure 6-5 : Removing spider drive.2. Install L-type gear puller onto the drive spider (see figure 6-5), placing a protective steel disc over the input shaft and remove the drive spider.3. Remove the four capscrews securing the hydraulic pump (see figure 6-6) to the manifold assembly and remove the pump and gasket (figure 6-7).

Figure 6-7 : Hydraulic pump removed.4. Place the unit on the front housing side. Remove the screw securing the filter cover to the manifold, and screw a 3/8-16 UNC eyebolt into the tapped hole provided on the cover to ease removal of it (see figure 6-8). Remove the filter (figure 6-9).

Figure 6-9 : Removing or installing filter.5. Remove the four screws securing the PTO replacement cover to the manifold (figure 6-10). Remove the cover.6. Remove the capscrews still securing the manifold to the rear housing (figure 6-11).

Figure 6-13 : Removing piston rings.9. Turn the unit rear side down on suitable wood blocks to have the front SAE adaptor horizontal (figure 6-14).

Figure 6-16 : Housing split by aid of jacking holes.12. Remove bearing outer races from front housing using an internal bearing puller, or levers (figure 6-17). Remove bearing spacers and shims. Remove input oil seal.

13. Remove the oil gauge tube from the rear housing
