Example of a Remote Panel"Remote Prelube"
The "remote prelube" switch is a two-position switch that is customer supplied. The switch connects to the digital input "PLC Card 4 Input 4".Note: The Engine Control Switch must be in the Remote position in order to be functional. The PLC must be running in order for the switch to be functional.When the switch is in the "Prelube On" position, the "PLC Card 4 Input 4" will be active. This activates the digital output "PLC Card 5 Output 1". The Intermittent Prelube Relay (IPR) is activated. The IPR activates the Intermittent Prelube Solenoid Valve. This starts the prelube pump. The prelube pump will run for 15 minutes or until the engine starts."Remote Prelube Indicators"
The contacts of the IPR are normally open. The contacts are customer supplied. The terminals 153A and 153C may be wired to an indicator lamp. The lamp shows that the prelube pump is running. The lamp is customer supplied.The contacts of the Starting Oil Sensor Relay (SOSRX) are normally open. The contacts are customer supplied. The terminals 211A and 211C may be wired to an indicator lamp. The lamp shows that the engine is prelubed. The lamp is customer supplied.Note: The contacts are dry contacts. The contacts must be wired in series with the indicator lamp and a power supply that is appropriate."Remote Start"
The "remote start" switch is a two-position switch. The switch is customer supplied. The switch is a momentary switch. The switch connects to the "PLC Card 4 Input 5".Note: The remote start switch will be functional when the engine control switch (ECS) is in the "Remote" position and when the PLC is running.When the switch is held in the "Start" position, the "PLC Card 4 Input 5" is active. The digital output on the "PLC Card 5 Output 3" will be turned on if one of the following conditions is present:
The engine oil pressure is greater than 20 kPa (2.9 psi).
The Starting Oil Sensor Relay (SOSRX) is energized.When the "PLC Card 5 Output 3" is turned on, the Auto Start Relay (ASR) will be activated. The ASR will activate the Air Start Solenoid Valve (ASSV). The ASSV will start the air starter if the customer is not preventing the start. The air starter will run for 10 seconds or until the engine starts."Remote Tachometer"
A 4-20 mA gauge that is customer supplied can be connected to "PLC Flex Module 4 Outputs 1-4". Any of the 4 inputs can be used. The output must be properly configured by using the "Programmable Output Configuration" screen."Remote Stop"
The "remote stop" switch is a customer supplied switch. The switch is a push button switch that connects to the "PLC Card 4 Input 6".Note: The Engine Control Switch must be in the "Remote Position" in order to be functional.
