Position of 113-2017 Plates for less than ten counterweights.3. Secure the counterweights by installing the threaded rod through the retaining plate and into the counterweights. Tighten the nut to a torque 115 20 N m (85 15 lb ft).Air Spring Pressure
Because of extra weight on the machine, careful attention should be given to the inflation pressure of the air springs.Typically the springs are inflated as follows: Increasing the air spring pressure increases the percentage of the total machine weight carried by the mid-rollers. Increasing air spring pressure can give the following benefits: * Provide better steering performance, especially under load.* Improved ride, due to the mid-rollers absorbing a greater amount of the shock loads. An air spring with insufficient pressure can cause poor turning performance under load and increased roughness of ride.Depending on the type of equipment, soil conditions, and performance requirements, the optimal spring pressure may vary from 410-620 kPa (60-90 psi). Various pressures should be tried to find the optimal setting for the particular situation. Do not exceed 650 kPa (95 psi) regardless of weight on the machine.Construction/Scraper Applications
This machine can be successfully applied in scraper applications. Because those applications are substantially different from tillage work, different operational considerations and precautions will apply.Attachment Method
The preferred hitch is one that bolts directly to the back of the machine case and uses the standard drawbar pin location, replacing either the standard drawbar and its support plate or the three-point hitch. If an adapter is to be used with the standard drawbar and its support plate, a dolly should be used on the scraper. No more than 3632 kg (8000 lb) of vertical load should be applied to the rear of the machine. A severely unbalanced machine will not ride or perform up to expectations. Excessive loads on the back of the machine can shorten driver life and promote loosening of the driver mount bolts.Even though the standard drawbar and its support plate, or the three-point hitch were removed, the attachment hitch should carry the draft laod through the pin located ahead of the differential steer case. The vertical load should be the only locad carried through the rear vertical support plates.Scraper Operation
Loading should be done in second or higher gear to minimize belt slippage and avoid excessive loading of the drive train. Long, shallow cuts are preferred. The haul and return portions of the cycle are important to maximize the life of structural components of the machine and scraper(s). Structural loads are multiplied by rough hauling conditions and/or excessive hauling speeds. Good practice requires maintaining hauling (and return) roads in smooth condition. The bouncing or dynamic loads from high speed operation on rough roads can shorten the life of hubs, wheels, bearings and structural members of the scraper(s) and also shorten the life of machine components such as drivers, the front axle and structural components. Driver bolt loosening can also be a symptom of excessive speed or rough conditions. Speed
