Which Generate This Code:This diagnostic code is activated when the Machine ECM detects that one of the programmable parameters needs to be programmed or has been programmed incorrectly. The ECM will list the parameter that is causing the problem. The programmable parameters that can cause this code to activate are listed.
Product Sales Model and Product ID.
Implement ECM 2 Incorrect.Product Sales Model and Product ID.The Machine ECM will activate and list the cause of the code as product sales model and product ID when new software has been flashed to the ECM and the model type and product ID has not been programmed. The correct sales model and product ID will need to be programmed when this occurs.Implement ECM 2 IncorrectSeveral conditions can cause this code to be activated by the Machine ECM. If an Implement ECM 2 has been configured as installed when no Implement ECM 2 is present on the machine, the Machine ECM will activate the "Implement ECM 2 Incorrect"diagnostic code. Two different types of Implement ECM 2 can be installed on the machine depending on the attachments that are installed on the machine. The Machine ECM knows the attachments that should be configured with each type of Implement ECM 2. When a specific attachment is configured for an Implement ECM 2, that the Machine ECM knows is incorrect, the Machine ECM will activate the "Implement ECM 2 Incorrect" diagnostic code.Test Step 1. SALES MODEL SYSTEM CONFIGURATION
Use the Cat Electronic Technician (Cat ET) service tool in order to verify that the Machine ECM is configured to the default setting configuration.
Reset the configuration to the appropriate sales model and product ID for your machine.Expected Result:The Machine ECM has been configured correctly with the appropriate sales model and product ID.Results:
OK - The control module has been configured with the appropriate sales model and product ID.Repair: Verify that the new configuration has corrected the problem before attempting to operate the machine.STOPTest Step 2. IMPLEMENT ECM 2 INCORRECT SYSTEM CONFIGURATION
Use the Cat Electronic Technician (Cat ET) service tool in order to verify that the Machine ECM is configured to the default setting configuration.
Reset the configuration to indicate the correct installation status ("installed" or "not installed") for the Implement ECM 2. Alternatively, reset the installation status to the correct type of Implement ECM 2 for the attachments that are installed on the machine.Expected Result:The correct installation status has been configured for the Implement ECM 2 status. Results:
OK - The correct installation status has been configured for the Implement ECM 2 status.Repair: Verify that the new configuration has corrected the problem before attempting to operate the machine. If the diagnostic code remains active or if the diagnostic code is repeatedly activated and no cause can be found, flash the ECM with the latest version of software. Ensure that you have the latest version of software for your specific machine and ECM. Refer to the Testing And Adjusting, "Electronic Control Module (ECM) - Flash Program" section of this manual for the correct procedure. If the problem is
