Raise hood (1) by activating switch (2). Turn battery disconnect switch (3) to the off position.

Remove panel (4).

Loosen clamp (7) and remove elbow (5).
Loosen clamps (6) and remove hose (8). Remove tube assembly (9), if necessary.

Disconnect hose assemblies (10) and (11).

Loosen clamps (12) and remove hose (14).
Loosen clamp (13) and remove elbow assembly (15), if necessary.

Remove hose assembly (16).
Attach a suitable lifting device to turbocharger (18). The weight of turbocharger (18) is approximately 30 kg (66 lb).
Remove nuts (17) and turbocharger (18).
Illustration 8 g06126168Note: Loosen both V-band clamp nuts only enough to allow the housing to rotate. Excessive loosening of the housing will cause contact. Possible damage to the wheel may occur.Note: Note the orientation of each V-band clamp for installation purposes.
Carefully remove and discard V-band clamps (19) and (20).Installation Procedure
Note: Put clean engine oil in the oil inlet of the turbocharger after assembly or before installation to provide lubrication during start-up and during storage.
Install turbocharger (7) in the reverse order of removal.
Tighten V-Band clamp (19) to a torque of 13.6 1.2 N m (120 11 lb in).
Tighten V-Band clamp (20) to a torque of 18 1.6 N m (159 14 lb in). Loosen the nut 1 to 2 turns. Retighten to a torque of 13.6 1.2 N m (120 11 lb in) .
Apply Tooling (A) to the threads and mating surface of nuts (17). Tighten to a torque of 70 5 N m (52 4 lb ft).
Insert tube assembly (9) and elbow (1) into hose (2) until the hose face reaches the tube and the elbow dimples.
Tighten the clamp for elbow (7) to a torque of 8.5 2.0 N m (75 18 lb in).
