Information:

Discuss with your site supervisor whether to aim for large positive values or for negative values, as these values differ when cutting versus filling.Reference: For more information about resetting productivity files, refer to "Operator Reset" or "Automatic Reset" in Operation and Maintenance Manual, M0078762, "General Information (Productivity)".Calculating Volume
The on-board software compares surfaces to calculate volumes. The "Volume Productivity" window is the main method used to view calculated volumes. The "Calculate Volumes" dialog provides an alternate method for calculating volumes.Using the "Calculate Volumes" Dialog
The on-board software can calculate the volume between any two files that contain elevation data. Select the files from the "Calculate Volumes" dialog. The volume difference is displayed in the "Volume Display" dialog.Note: Volume calculations that use pairs of files will suspend screen updates. Do not attempt to work while the system is processing volumes.

Select "OK" or "Apply" to calculate the volume and open the "Volume Display" dialog.Note: "OK" and "Apply" are only enabled if a volume can be calculated using the selected files. The two different files must be selected from the two lists.
Select "View Saved" to view any saved values for the selected file pair.Note: The "View Saved" button is only enabled if there is a saved value for the selected files."Volume Display" Dialog

"Volume Display" dialog.
The "Volume Display" dialog appears and displays the results of the volume calculation when an operator selects "Apply" or "OK" on the "Calculate Volume" dialog. The file name and paths are displayed along with the areas and the area that the files overlap. The data displayed in the dialog includes:"To Cut:" - Amount of material that must be cut to get from the "From:" file to the "To:" file"To Fill:" - Amount to be filled"Cut" and "Filled" - Difference between the current "To Cut:" and "To Fill:" and the saved valuesBy default, the area of the "To:" file is not determined since the "From:" file determines the extents of the search. The overlap area is where valid values are in both the "To:" and "From:" files. In the example above, the entire "curelev.cat" file is inside the "d11_pit.cat" file. The overlap area is the same as the "From" area. This area is significant when comparing saved values. If the area changes, cut and filled values may change only because more area was used to calculate the volume. The area of the "To:" file may be determined using the "Find Area" button. If the "To:" file is an Elevation Design, this number will not change."Save" - The "Save" button saves a value for the file pair.Last Saved - The date
