Fasten a hoist to recoil spring (15) . Put the recoil spring in position in the front track roller frame.

Install plate (14) in the front track roller frame.

Install the recoil spring retainer in the front track roller frame until the retainer contacts plate (14) .Note: For correct assembly of Tooling (D) , see Disassembly and Assembly, "Recoil Spring - Remove".
Install Tooling (D) on the front track roller frame, as shown. Adjust 1B-4207 Full Nuts (7) until the nuts are an equal distance from the surface of the front track roller frame. Use the following procedure:Note: There must never be more than 12.7 mm (0.50 inch) space between the recoil spring and the retaining nut for the recoil spring during installation of the recoil spring.
Sudden release of spring force can cause injury.To prevent the possibility of injury, follow the procedure to relieve the spring pressure.
Slowly extend hydraulic cylinder (4) in order to compress the recoil spring while recoil spring retainer (13) is installed with Tooling (B) .
When the hydraulic cylinder has been extended, hold the recoil spring in position with the recoil spring retainer.
Retract the hydraulic cylinder.

Note: Tooling (D) and Tooling (C) are identical except for 9S-9076 Spacers (5) and the number of 2S-0115 Hard Washers (8) .
Install Tooling (C) . Use the following procedure to install the recoil springs:
Remove 1B-4207 Full Nuts (7) and four 2S-0115 Hard Washers (8) .
Install the following parts on studs (10) : 9S-9076 Spacers (5) , twelve 2S-0115 Hard Washers (8) and 1B-4207 Full Nuts (7) . Adjust the nuts until the nuts are an equal distance from the surface of the front track roller frame.
Extend hydraulic cylinder (4) slowly in order to compress the recoil spring while the recoil spring retainer is installed with Tooling (B) .
When the hydraulic cylinder has been extended, hold the recoil spring in position with recoil spring retainer (13) .
Retract the hydraulic cylinder.

Note: Tooling (C) and Tooling (A) are identical except for 9S-9077 Spacers (1) and the number of 2S-0115 Hard Washers (8) .
Use the following procedure to install Tooling (A) and the recoil spring:
Remove the following parts from studs (10) : nuts (7) , twelve washers (8) and spacers (5) .
Install the following parts on studs (10) : spacers (1) , spacers (5) , washers (8) and nuts (7) . Adjust the nuts until the nuts are an equal distance from the surface of the front track roller frame.
Extend hydraulic cylinder (4) slowly in order to compress the recoil spring while recoil spring (13) is installed with Tooling (B) .
Install recoil spring retainer (13) . The retainer should bottom out into the front track roller frame.
Turn the recoil spring counterclockwise until the notches in the retainer are aligned with the retainers for the track adjuster.End By: Install the track adjuster. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Track Adjuster - Install" for the machine that is being serviced.
