1. Move tractor to level ground, lower implements to ground, and stop the engine.2. Before belt tension is adjusted, make sure bogie suspension springs are correctly inflated.3. Slowly loosen bleed plug (5) to release all pressure inside tensioner cylinder before bleed plug (5) is completely removed.4. Connect a hydraulic pressure source to tensioner cylinder and fully extend cylinder rod. Do not let hydraulic pressure go over 17 225 kPa (2500 psi). FT2228 Hose Assembly can be used to make tractor hydraulic system available to extend tensioner cylinder.5. Install service lock (4) between yoke and cylinder as shown.6. Loosen locknut (1) and adjust rod assembly (2) as needed to change dimension (3). One complete turn of rod assembly (2) will change dimension (3) approximately 8 mm (.31 in.).7. Tighten locknut (1) to a torque of ... 350 50 N m (260 37 lb.ft.).8. Remove service lock (4) and remove hydraulic pressure from tensioner cylinder.9. Check dimension (3) at both tensioner cylinders. Dimension (3) should be 111.3 2.5 mm (4.38 .01 in.). Adjustment of one cylinder can change dimension (3) of the other cylinder.10. If dimension (3) of either cylinder is wrong, do Steps 2 through 9 again.11. After the correct belt tension has been obtained, make sure the hydraulic oil level in each tensioner cylinder is at the bottom of the bleed plug hole.
