At operating temperature the hydraulic oil is hot and under pressure. Hot oil can cause burns. Remove the filler cap on the left hydraulic tank only when the engine is stopped and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand. Ensure that all the hydraulic pressure is released before any fittings, hoses or components are loosened, tightened, removed or adjusted.
e. Carefully loosen the filler cap on the left hydraulic oil tank to release the pressure.f. Tighten the filler cap on the left hydraulic oil tank.g. The pressure in the left hydraulic system has now been released. 5. Remove shuttle valve (1) from valve manifold (2). 6. Remove three O-ring seals (3), (4) and (5). Remove four back-up rings (6) and (7) from shuttle valve (1). The following steps are for the installation of the shuttle valve.7. Ensure that all parts of the shuttle valve are thoroughly clean prior to assembly.8. Check the condition of the O-ring seals used in the shuttle valve. If any of the parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.9. Install O-ring seals (3), (4) and (5) and back-up rings (6) and (7) onto shuttle valve (1).10. Install the shuttle valve into the valve manifold (2).11. Check the level of hydraulic oil in the left tank and fill the tank with oil to the correct level. Refer to the 990 Wheel Loader Operation & Maintenance Manual, SEBU6628 for the correct fluid and filling procedure.12. Separate the steering frame lock link. Refer to the topic "Separate & Connect Steering Frame Lock Link" in this module.
