The dry exhaust manifolds provide maximum heat to the turbine. Soft wrap is used as insulation on the exhaust manifolds. The insulation helps retain the heat in the exhaust system. The insulation also helps protect the components that are outside of the exhaust system from the heat.

Soft wrap
The soft wrap must remain on the exhaust manifolds at all times. The soft wrap prevents the wiring from burning. The soft wrap also prevents the oil lines and the water lines from heating up.

(3) Exhaust passage Water cooled exhaust manifolds help reduce heat that is radiated from the exhaust system. The exhaust manifold and the water manifold are combined. As the coolant flows from the cylinder head to the water temperature regulators, the coolant cools the exhaust that flows through the exhaust manifold.
