Improper jump start cable connections can cause an explosion resulting in personal injury.Batteries may be located in separate compartments. When using jump start cables, always connect the positive (+) to the positive (+) terminal of the battery that is connected to the starter solenoid and the negative (-) cable from the source to the negative (-) terminal of the starter. (If the machine is not equipped with a starter negative terminal, connect the negative (-) cable to the engine block.) Follow the procedure in the Operation and Maintenance Manual.
