MOTOR GRADER,
Information:
The Procedure Before The Accumulator Bleeds Down
When the engine is running, the bulldozer blade can be lowered by pushing the implement control lever forward. For a short period of time, after the engine has been stopped, the bulldozer blade can be lowered by pushing the implement control lever forward. Release the control lever. The control lever will return to the HOLD position. The ripper can be lowered by moving the ripper control lever to the right. Release the control lever. The control lever will return to the HOLD position. The Procedure After The Accumulator Bleeds Down
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
After the engine has been stopped for a short period of time the control levers will not lower the implements to the ground. There are two mechanical methods that can be used to lower the attachments.Accumulator Charging

Remove the components that are indicated by shaded area (A). Plug the pressure hose at the connection "3/8 - 18 NPT".
Turn the handle of the bypass valve (5) to the closed position.
While you are pumping the handle (4), observe the opening pressure of the relief valve (3) .
Adjust the opening pressure of the relief valve. Set the pressure to 3030 70 kPa (440 10 psi).Charge the pilot hydraulic system at the pressure tap for remote pilot supply (1) in order to lower the implements.
Connect 3P-2233 Coupler assembly (B) to 9J-6190 Adapter Union on the pump pressure hose .
Turn the bypass valve handle (4) to the CLOSED position.
Initially, rapidly move the pump handle. This will produce a large volume of oil flow.
The quick connector seal must be fully seated. Seating the seal is evident by a sudden rise in the oil pressure. When the seal is properly seated, the pressure rises to the maximum.
The hydraulic system can now be pressurized.
Use the control levers to lower the implements. When the implements are lowered, disconnect the pump. Replace the protective cap on the pressure tap for the remote pilot supply (1) .Close the right access cover on the right side of the machine.Actuator SpoolsRelieve the pressure in the hydraulic tank.
