Install a small piece of reflective tape (14) from Tool (A) on tamper shaft (15).Test Procedure

Move machine power switch (13) into the ON position. After the home screen is shown on display (16), press, and hold push to start switch (12). Release the switch when the engine starts.

Actuate screen unlock switch (17) to enable the touch screen on the display.Note: When the display is enabled, an LED next to the screen unlock switch is illuminated.

Tap status icon (18) to enter the status screen.

Operate the engine at low idle for a few minutes. Press rpm increase switch (19) once to operate the engine in high idle.

Monitor the hydraulic oil temperature on display (20). Operate the machine until the oil temperature reaches a minimum of 45 10 °C (113 18 °F).

If "AUTO" (24) appears next to tamper icon (22), go to the next step. If the manual icon appears next to the tamper icon, go to Step 13.

If tamper icon (29) is gray and on the left side of the box, tap the icon. If the tamper icon is green and on the right side of the box, go to the next step.

Actuate mode select switch (31) until tamper mode indicator (30) is illuminated.
Rotate rotary dial (32) clockwise until all indicators (33) are illuminated.

Tamper speed (34) on the display should be 1800 rpm.

Squeeze trigger (35), and move propel lever (4) into the forward range.
Use Tool (A) to record the tamper speed. Refer to the specifications section above for the tamper speed specification.
Move propel lever (4) into the NEUTRAL position.
Press rpm decrease switch (10) once to operate the engine in low idle.Note: If necessary, perform a regeneration cycle before the engine is stopped.
Press and hold push to start switch (12). Release the switch when the engine stops.
Move machine power switch (13) to the OFF position.
Analyze the recorded speed reading. The speed specification is given in the specifications section above. If the tamper speed reading was within the specified ranges, the system is operating within design parameters. If tamper speed is less than the specified range, calibrate the tamper.
