Information:

Oil flows through two lines from the two-section pump. This oil flows through oil screens (1) and into pump oil supply port (4). This oil combines inside the hoist control valve. Two load check valves (14) protect the pump from reverse oil flow in the lines to the hoist cylinders.Relief valve (16) for the front brake oil cooler limits the pressure in line (6) to 790 kPa (115 psi). If a restriction causes the pressure in line (6) to increase above 790 kPa (115 psi), relief valve (16) will vent oil to the hydraulic tank.Counterbalance valve (15) prevents cavitation of the hoist cylinders. If the load shifts suddenly and the pump cannot supply enough oil to the hoist cylinders for pressure compensation, the pressure in the head end of the hoist cylinder will drop. Counterbalance valve (15) is set to shift if the pressure in the head end of the hoist cylinder drops below 6900 kPa (1000 psi) and solenoid (5) for the RAISE position is energized. The counterbalance valve is not adjustable.Pump oil also flows through dump spool (11) and to dual stage relief valves (12). If either low pressure relief valve (21) or high pressure relief valve (20) is opened, dump spool (11) will release pump oil to the front brake oil cooling lines. Low pressure relief valve (21) is set to open at 3450 kPa (500 psi). High pressure relief valve (20) is set to open at 20370 kPa (2955 psi). A signal line to stem (19) closes low pressure relief valve (21) while solenoid (5) for the RAISE position is energized.HOLD Position
In the HOLD position, none of the solenoids have been energized. All of the pilot oil is vented to the hydraulic tank. Centering springs (23) hold directional spool (22) so that pump oil that is entering port (4) flows outward through line (6). This sends all of the oil from the two-section pump to the filters for the front brake oil cooler. The maximum pressure in the lines is controlled by relief valve (16). Line (8) to the head end of the hoist cylinders is blocked by directional spool (22). A small notch in directional spool (22) connects line (7) to the rod end of the hoist cylinders with the front brake cooling oil.Because no signal oil is sent to stem (19), the pump oil is open to low pressure relief valve (21). The pressure does not increase enough in order to open low pressure relief valve (21). This causes all of the oil to drain to the hydraulic tank.Because no signal oil is sent to the counterbalance valve, oil flow through counterbalance valve (15) is blocked.RAISE Position
In the RAISE position, solenoid (5) has been energized. Pilot oil pushes directional spool (22) to the left. The pilot oil at solenoids (9) and (10) is still vented to the hydraulic tank. When directional spool (22) moves, the pump oil that is coming through port (4) flows through load check valves (14), to line (8),
