The schematic above shows the parts in the ether starting aid group, and their approximate location. Parts are as follows: 5P2948 Connector (1), 9G9364 Ether Valve (2), 7N2059 Clamp Assembly (3), 6N9995 Atomizer (4), 1N3416 Tube (5), 7N140 Tube Assembly (6), 1V3113 Clip (7) (ten needed), 3B7255 Bushing (8), 8N1693 Temperature Switch (9), 6A3361 Wire (10), 2L8075 Terminal (11), 2L8079 Terminal (12), 1N4299 Wire Assembly (13), 3T306 Switch (14), 514069 Fuse Connector (15) with a 3K8782 Fuse, 2L8075 Terminal (16), 2L8079 Terminal (17), 6A3361 Wire (18), Ether Cylinder (A) (not part of group - must order separately), Air Inlet Manifold (B), Control Panel or Dash (C), Water Temperature Regulator Housing (D), Connect Ground Wire (10) at Location (E).Installation Procedure
(1) Put 5P2948 Connector (1) in ether valve (2). Install ether valve (2) in a good location, as follows: A. Install in a vertical position that is within the angle limit shown.B. As near the engine manifold as possible, but not on the engine.C. Do not install the ether valve in a location where the temperature is more than 100°C (212°F).(2) Install 7N2059 Clamp (3) directly above ether valve (2) according to the dimensions shown. When atomizer (4) is installed, the identification mark at location (F) must be turned to a specific position. (3) According to the type of air induction system on the engine (see the two top view illustrations above), remove the 5M6213 Plug at location (G) on inlet manifold (B). Install atomizer (4) in the plug hole with identification mark (F) toward the front of the engine. (4) Remove the 2B858 Plug from the top right side of water temperature regulator housing (D), and install a 3B7255 Bushing and 8N1693 Temperature Switch (9). Temperature switch (9) will not permit ether to be injected if engine coolant temperature is above 38°C (100°F).(5) On a piece of 6A3361 Wire (10), install a 2L8075 Terminal (11) on one end and a 2L8079 Terminal (12) on the other end. Use a bolt on end cover (19) to fasten one end of the wire to the regulator housing at location (E). Connect the other end of the wire to switch (9). (6) Install 3T306 Switch (14). The best location is on the control panel or dash, if possible, in an area that gives the operator good access for use of the switch at engine start-up.(7) Use two pieces of 6A3361 Wire (18), 2L8075 Terminal (16) and 2L8079 Terminal (17) to connect 514069 Fuse Connector (15) to switch (14) and the positive (+) side of the battery. Install the 3K8782 Fuse in fuse connector (15).(8) Connect 1N4299 Wire Assembly (13) to switch (9), wires (19) on valve (2), and switch (14).(9) Use two pieces of 1N3416 Tube (5) with 7N140 Tube Assembly (6) between them, to connect valve (2) to atomizer (4). Use 1V3113 Clips (7) to hold tubes (5) in position. Do not fasten the electrical wires to tubes (5).(10) Install a 7N296 Ether Cylinder (A) on ether valve (2), and use
