Turn screws (2) counterclockwise and remove panel (1) .

Connect the communication adapter to service tool connector (3) .Procedure for Adjusting the Cable
Ensure that the engine start switch key is in the OFF position.
Move the governor control lever to the HIGH IDLE position.
Fully depress the deceleration pedal.Note: Maintain this position for the remainder of this procedure.
Exit the machine.
Open the access panel on the left side of the machine.

Loosen jam nut (2) and disconnect cable (3) from clevis (1) .
Move the governor control lever to the LOW IDLE position.
Thread cable (3) into clevis (1) until there is no slack in the cable.
Move the governor control lever to the HIGH IDLE position.
Turn cable (3) for an additional half of a turn.
Tighten jam nut (2) .
Ensure that LOW IDLE is set properly and ensure that HIGH IDLE is set properly.
Ensure that the laptop computer is connected to the data port. Refer to "Preparations for Checking Engine Speed".
Enter the machine.
Fasten the seat belt.
Start the engine and increase the engine speed to HIGH IDLE.
Note the engine speed. The engine speed should be 2400 40. If the engine speed is not within the specification, adjust the cable for the deceleration pedal. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Cable (Deceleration Pedal) - Adjust".
Use the governor control lever to decrease engine speed to LOW IDLE.
Note the engine speed. The engine speed should be 850 50. If the engine speed is not within the specification, adjust the cable for the deceleration pedal. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Cable (Deceleration Pedal) - Adjust".
