Machine Preparation
The following procedures must be completed before performing the calibration.
Set the pilot pressure to the specifications in Testing and Adjusting, "Relief Valve (Pilot) - Test and Adjust" for the machine.
Position the machine on level ground and stop the engine.

Stop valves for high-pressure oil delivery to the work tool (typical example)
Close the stop valves that are mounted on each side of the stick in order to prevent oil flow to the work tool during this procedure.
Release the pressure in the hydraulic system. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "System Pressure - Release"
.
Start the engine.
Place the machine controls at the following settings: engine speed dial "7" and AEC switch OFF. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Engine Performance - Test (Engine Speed)" for engine rpm settings.
Increase the hydraulic oil temperature to 55° 5°C (131° 9°F).Calibration Procedure
Note: This procedure is typical for all proportional reducing valves for attachment control. The control input for the extension and retraction valves will differ.Use any of the following electric control inputs shown in Illustration 2 to calibrate A1 and A2 attachment valves.

The following procedure will allow the user to calibrate the proportional reducing valves using the monitor.
Enter "Service" from "Setting" menu. Input the password "9992".

Select "Calibrations" from the "Service" menu.

Select "Attachment Valves" from the "Calibrations" menu.

Select "Attachment Valve with Pump Press" to calibrate.
Press the OK key in order to start the calibration. The engine RPM will automatically increase to the equivalence of engine speed dial 7.
Confirm the notes on the monitor display. Set up the test conditions in accordance with the instructions. Press the OK key.
Follow the instructions on the monitor to complete the calibrations.
If no error occurs, the calibration was completed successfully.
The "Error" screen will be displayed on the monitor if an error occurs. The process of calibration will not be saved and the process must be restarted.Cat Electronic Technician Procedure
The following procedure will allow the user to calibrate the proportional reducing valves using the Cat Electronic Technician.

(1) Service port
Connect the Cat Electronic Technician to the diagnostic connector located behind the seat on the left side of the cab.
Start Cat Electronic Technician.

Select the ECM for "Implement Control #2".

Select "Calibrations" from the "Service" menu.

Highlight "Electric-Hydraulic Valves Calibrations" and click on the "Start" button in the lower left corner of the screen.

Select the calibration and press the "Start" button.
Follow the instructions on the monitor to complete the calibrations.
If no error occurs, the calibration was completed. Press the "Finish" button to exit or move on to the next calibration.
If the calibration failed, the calibration is not saved. Press the "Restart" button to try the calibration again or press the "Finish" button to exit or move on to the next calibration.
