A 439-3940 Bracket As 2 Start By:
Remove the front housing. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Housing (Front) - Remove".
Remove the flywheel housing. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Flywheel Housing - Remove and Install".
Remove the engine oil pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Oil Pump - Remove".
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Ensure that the No. 1 cylinder is at the top center compression stroke. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Finding Top Center Position for No. 1 Piston".

Remove piston cooling jet (3).
Remove connecting rod caps (1) and crankshaft main bearing caps (2).
Remove the thrust plates from the cylinder block.

Fasten Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to crankshaft (3). The weight of crankshaft (4) is approximately 79 kg (175 lb).
Remove crankshaft (4).
