Bottom side view of frame. (A) Final drive case mounting face. (B) Centerline of drain plug for final drive. (C) Fillet weld two places. (D) Plug weld three holes in each guard. (1) 9U0964 LH Guard. (2) 9U0965 RH Guard.Procedure To Install Wear Guards
1. Tack weld each guard into position using one of the welding processes listed in the chart. 2. Preheat each guard to 150 10°C (300 50°F) prior to welding.3. Plug weld three holes (D) in each guard.4. Weld guard to final drive case assembly as shown in the illustration. Grind but do NOT remove the tack welds.5. If any tack weld shows a crack, grind the weld completely out and weld over the area.
