5. Put dash assembly (6) in position in the operator's station. Install fourteen bolts (5) that hold dash assembly (6) to the operator's station. 6. Put arm rest (7) in position in the operator's station. 7. Put steering wheel and boss assembly (9) in position on the steering metering pump. Install four bolts (8) that hold steering wheel and boss assembly (9) to the steering metering pump. 8. Put transmission control bracket (11) with the transmission control in position on the side of the dash. Install two bolts (10) that hold transmission control bracket (11) to the dash. 9. Put cover (13) in position in the operator's station. Install three bolts (12) that hold cover (13) to the operator's station.10. Fill the hydraulic tank to the correct level. Start by:a. Remove steering metering pump. Fluid Spillage ContainmentCare must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, Caterpillar Tools and Shop Product Guide, for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Elphinstone machines. Dispose fluids according to local regulations and mandates. Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism. 1. Remove seven bolts (1) that hold the steering metering pump (2) together. 2. Separate the components of the steering metering pump as follows:a. Remove end cap (3).
Do not drop star (5) during assembly. Damage to the components will result.
