There have been reports of cracks on the flywheel housing for the C6.4 engine at very early hours. The crack appears to be the result of an insufficient manufacturing process of the flywheel housing.Solution
An inspection process of the flywheel housing has been added in order to correct the situation. The initial crack that was generated in the manufacturing process is found by this additional inspection process. The failed iron was never used since the change in the inspection process was made at the supplier. The inspection process started with engines that are listed in Table 1.
