Engage the steering frame lock.
Release the hydraulic system pressure.
Personal injury can result from hydraulic oil pressure and hot oil.Hydraulic oil pressure can remain in the hydraulic system after the engine has been stopped. Serious injury can be caused if this pressure is not released before any service is done on the hydraulic system.Make sure all of the work tools have been lowered to the ground, and the oil is cool before removing any components or lines. Remove the oil filler cap only when the engine is stopped, and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.
Drain the hydraulic oil. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic System Oil - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedures.

Attach a suitable lifting device to vibratory compactor (1). Raise vibratory compactor (1).
Position vibratory compactor (1) onto suitable cribbing.

Disconnect harness assemblies (2) and (5).
Disconnect hose (4) and hose assemblies (3).

Remove bolts (8) and fan (7). Lower vibratory drive shaft (6).

Remove bolts (9) and vibratory drive shaft (6).

Attach a suitable lifting device to support assembly (11). The weight of support assembly (11) is approximately 455 kg (1000 lb).
Remove bolts (10), bolts (12), and support assembly (11).

Remove the top four bolts (14) that fasten the eccentric weight to the drum.
Remove bolt (13).

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to eccentric weight assembly (15). The weight of eccentric weight assembly (15) is approximately 218 kg (481 lb).
Remove remaining bolts (14) and eccentric weight assembly (15) from the drum.Installation Procedure
Install eccentric weight assembly (15) in the reverse order of removal.Note: Tighten bolts (14) evenly.
Apply Tooling (B) to the threads of bolts (12).
Apply Tooling (B) to the threads of bolts (10).
Apply Tooling (B) to the threads of bolts (9).
Apply Tooling (B) to the threads of bolts (8).
