Parking Brake Actuator for the 16H Machine (1) Spring. (2) Air compartment. (3) Port from the quick release valve. (4) Piston. (5) Housing. (6) Sleeve. (7) Rod.When the transmission direction and speed control is moved to the PARKING BRAKE ENGAGED position, the air pressure in air compartment (2) is released through port (3). The air pressure flows to the exhaust port in the quick-release valve. Then, spring (1) moves piston (4), sleeve (6), and rod (7) to the right. The rod end on rod (7) is connected to the parking brake lever on the side of the transmission. As rod (7) moves out of housing (5), the parking brake lever is moved in order to engage the parking brake.When the transmission direction and speed control is moved to the NEUTRAL position, the air pressure flows through port (3) to air compartment (2). The air pressure moves piston (4), sleeve (6), and rod (7) back to the left. Then, rod (7) moves the parking brake lever in order to release the parking brake.
