Note: Before beginning the following Rework Procedure, please review and understand the Operation and Maintenance Manual for safety information and safe working practices before starting this Rework Procedure.
All of the swing bearing gear group bolts will need to be checked. Refer to Image1 and 2.
312D2 Machines - static bolt torque needs to be checked at 230 N.m.
318D2 machines - static bolt torque needs to be checked at 450 N.m.
Note: The swing bearing gear group bolts were torqued using torque turn process so please follow the above static torque settings during inspection. If an incorrect torque is found during the inspection, follow the tightening specification for the 312D2 UENR0196, or 318D2 UENR0198, Disassembly and Assembly manual. If any of the bolts are found loose, refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Swing gear and Bearing - Remove and Install", for the torque process.

Contact your local Cat dealer immediately to schedule this service. The dealer will advise you of the time required to complete this service.
If you are no longer the owner of this product(s), please contact your local Cat dealer so that our records can be updated. Please refer the dealer to their Service Letter dated 24Feb2016 when scheduling this service.
