Introduction
When the axle oscillation lock cylinders have been serviced or the hydraulic oil has been replaced, use the following procedure to remove air from the cylinders:Machine Preparation
Clear all personnel from the machine and from the area around the machine.
Start the engine.

Engine speed dial
Set the engine speed dial at "10".
Lower the left console.
Position the machine on level ground. Check the visibility and adjust the mirrors for the best vision close to the machine.
Lower the stabilizers and the blade tip.
Fully extend the bucket cylinder and place the bucket on the ground.
Engage the swing lock pin.

Set the engine speed dial at "1".

Parking brake button located on the soft panel switch
Push down on the parking brake button in order to activate the parking brake.Note: The indicator light will be illuminated when the parking brake control is activated.

Implement lock button located on the soft panel switch
Push down on the implement lock button in order to activate the implement lock.Note: The indicator light will be illuminated when the implement lock control is activated.

Oscillating axle lock button located on the soft panel switch
Push down on the oscillating axle lock button in order to unlock the oscillating axle.Note: The indicator light will not be illuminated when the oscillating axle lock is deactivated.
Release the service brake pedal in order to pressurize the oscillating axle cylinders.Adjustment Procedure

Personal injury can result from hydraulic oil pressure and hot oil.Hydraulic oil pressure can remain in the hydraulic system after the engine has been stopped. Serious injury can be caused if this pressure is not released before any service is done on the hydraulic system.Make sure all of the attachments have been lowered, and the oil is cool before removing any components or lines. Remove the oil filler cap only when the engine is stopped, and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Slowly loosen vent plug (1) until oil begins to flow around vent plug (1)
Tighten vent plug (1) to the specified torque.
Repeat the "Adjustment Procedure" for the other axle oscillation lock cylinder.
