This illustration shows a typical rear gear group. (1) Four 8M-2530 Bolts (2) Stub ShaftIn all of the 3508 Machine Engines that are used in these machines, four 8M-2530 Bolts (3) are now used in the balancer groups. See Illustration 2. These bolts are twelve point bolts. Formerly, hex head bolts were used. These bolts are used to fasten the stub shaft (4) to the rear of the cylinder block. The balancer gear (5) rotates on the stub shaft (4). Tighten the four bolts (3) to a torque of 140 10 N m (105 5 lb ft).
