(A) Cast bracket
(B) Fabricated bracket
Determine the extent of the rework that is required by examining the seat brackets and comparing the pictures to Illustration 1. The brackets are on the left and right sides of the seat where the seat back and seat base come together.If your machine has a seat with the cast seat bracket (A), perform only the harness rework procedure.If your machine has a seat with the fabricated seat bracket (B), perform the installation of the new floor plate, inspection of the ECM 70–pin connector and cover, seat harness inspection and rework procedure. If the temporary seat travel limiting stop has been installed, the limiting stop should be removed.Installation of New Floor Plate

Remove the seat.
Remove the old floor plate.
On some machines, the hole has been enlarged to allow the weld nut on the new floor plate to drop into place. If the hole is too small, grind out the hole until the weld nut fits.
Install the new 539-9229 Plate As.
Reinstall the seat.Note: Inspect the ECM before installing the seat.Inspect 70–pin Connector and Cover

Check the covers and 70–pin connectors for damage. Replace if necessary.
Inspect wires for damage and repair if necessary.

(C) Tie straps
Cut the three tie straps at location (C). Move the wire harness from the ECM side of the ladder clips to the seat side of the ladder clips. Secure the wire harness on the seat side of the ladder clips using new tie straps.Seat Travel Limiting Rework Procedure

Remove the front travel limiting bolt at location (D). Slide the seat fully forward to access the rear travel limiting bolt.

Remove the travel limiting washer (1) and screw (2).Install the rear travel limiting bolt (3) at location (E) in the forward most location.
Slide the seat to the rear and verify that the travel limiting bolt stops the seat and there is no interference between the seat and the ECM.
Reinstall the front travel limiting bolt at location (D).
