Do not work on or near the cab or left side of the engine until the cab is in the fully tilted (over-center) position.Isolate the batteries by turning the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position and remove the key prior to performing any service work under the cab.Accidental cab lowering can cause personal injury or death.
The AD40 Series II truck and the AE40 Series II truck have a tilt cab arrangement for access to the battery compartment and left side of the engine.
Ensure the cab door is closed before tilting the cab. Ensure there is enough room at the left side of the machine for the cab to tilt fully.
The battery disconnect switch and the engine start switch must be in the ON position for the cab tilt function to operate.Raise Cab
1. Ensure the cab door is closed. Lock the cab door if entry to the cab is not required.2. Move cab raise/lower switch (2) up and hold the switch in the CAB RAISE position.3. Move cab tilt pump switch (1) up and hold the switch in the ON position to activate the electric hydraulic pump. Light (3) will illuminate when the cab lockdown pins are retracted.4. Hold switches (1) and (2) until the cab stops tilting and the cab is in the fully tilted (over-center) position. Release cab raise/lower switch (2). Release switch (1) to stop the electric hydraulic pump.Lower Cab
1. Move cab raise/lower switch (2) down and hold the switch in the LOWER position.2. Move cab tilt pump switch (1) up and hold in the ON position to activate the electric hydraulic pump.
Personal injury or death can result if the cab lockdown pins are not in the lock position when operating the machine.Do not operate the machine when the cab lockdown pin warning light is illuminated.
3. Hold switches (1) and (2) until the cab is fully lowered and the cab lockdown pins are fully extended. Light (3) will go out when the cab lockdown pins are fully extended.4. Release cab raise/lower switch (2). Release switch (1) to stop the electric hydraulic pump.
