PROBLEM
The existing 3F9025 Bolts of the 5T4474 Rear Axle Housing Gp at the 8X3375 Cap As. can loosen on certain 789C Off-Highway Trucks. If the existing bolted joint fails it can cause premature wear of the coupling or complete disconnect of the rear axle housing gp from the joint at the frame center tube.

ACTION REQUIRED
The conformance to the torque and turn portions of the tightening procedure cannot be evaluated by a static inspection torque after assembly. Inspect the joint for looseness or damage. Remove the 3F9025 Bolts, one at a time, reinstall new bolts and flat washers, and tighten to the correct torque following Disassembly and Assembly instructions SENR1534. Do not use Loctite. Use antiseize per Disassembly and Assembly instructions.
