Machine Stopping
With the engine running, this machine will spot turn when the steering wheel is turned, even with the transmission in NEUTRAL and the parking brake applied. To avoid personal injury due to unexpected machine movement, make sure the area is free of personnel before starting the engine.Be prepared to counteract any steering that might occur when the engine starts by applying the service brakes.
Move the machine to a safe location on level ground.1. Pull the governor control lever back or push the decelerator pedal down to decrease engine speed.2. Push brake pedal down to slow the machine travel speed.3. Push inching clutch pedal down to disengage the clutch.4. Push brake pedal down all the way to stop the machine.5. Move the transmission control lever to NEUTRAL.6. Engage the parking brake.7. Lower all raised implements to the ground. Apply a slight down pressure. If the engine is to be stopped, operate the engine at low idle. See "Engine Stopping."Engine Stopping
Stopping the engine immediately after it has been working under load, can result in overheating and accelerated wear of the engine components.Follow the stopping procedure, outlined below, to allow the engine to cool, and to prevent excessive temperatures in the turbocharger centerhousing which will cause oil coking problems.
1. Before stopping the engine, operate at low idle for five minutes. This allows hot areas in the engine to cool gradually, extending engine life. 2. Pull the governor control lever all the way back past the detent, to stop the engine. 3. Turn the engine start switch to OFF-LOCKED.Leaving the Machine
1. Remove the engine start switch key. 2. When leaving the machine, close the windows and lock the cab door.
