Right side view of transmission (5) Transmission gear position sensorWith the engine start switch in the ON position, 24 volt power is supplied from the batteries via circuit breaker #10 to the Caterpillar Monitoring System and the speedometer/tachometer module. 24 volt power is supplied from the batteries via circuit breaker #12 to the Power Train/Chassis ECM and the transmission gear position sensor.Power Train/Chassis ECM (1) receives a signal from transmission gear position sensor (5) for the gear that is currently selected. The signal is sent to Caterpillar Monitoring System (2) via the CAT Data Link to speedometer/tachometer module (3). The speedometer/tachometer module will display the actual gear in the display window.
