Groove for the O-ring seal that is in the spacer plates
Refer to Table 12 for additional information.
Note: Seal grooves for the O-rings are not needed for D8N, D8R, D8T, D9L, D10N, D10R, D10T, and D10T2 Track-Type Tractors.
Use the thrust plate that is bolted to the end of the pivot shaft as a template. Drill the holes in the fabricated spacer plates.Note: You may use the existing bolts to install the spacer plates and the thrust plates. These two components are for the following Track-Type Tractors models: D7H, D7H LGP, D8N, D8L, D9N, and D9L.On D10 Track-Type Tractors with a 8P-8964 Pivot Shaft, and on D10 NG Track-Type Tractors with a 8P-8988 Pivot Shaft, use a 5/8 inch - 11 NC bottom tap to tap the holes in the end of the shaft. Use 1A-1135 Bolts.On D10 Track-Type Tractors with a 7T-5713 Pivot Shaft, on D10 NG Track-Type Tractors with a 7T-5712 Pivot Shaft and on D11N Track-Type Tractors, use a 7/8 inch - 9 NC bottom tap to tap the holes in the end of the shaft. Use 1D-4629 Bolts.Note: Make sure that the bolts do not bottom out.
Tighten the bolts to the correct torque. Refer to the Service Manual for your machine.

Install the pivot shaft. Refer to the appropriate Service Manual for additional information.
Make sure that the fabricated spacer plates are in position between the pivot shaft and thrust plates. The seal must be oriented toward the pivot shaft.Note: Refer to Table 14 for the tolerances for the end play for each machine.
