Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the left rear wheel. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Wheel (Rear) - Remove and Install".
Remove the generator belt. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Generator Belt - Remove and Install".

Remove the bolts, fender assembly (1), and cover assembly (2) .

Remove the bolts and belt adjuster assembly (3) .

Remove the four screws and cover assembly (4) .

Remove the screw and wire assembly (5) from cover assembly (4). Place cover assembly (4) out of the way.

Disconnect wire assemblies (6), (7), (8), and (10) .
Remove the screw and wire assembly (9) .

Remove nut (12) and conduit (11) .

Remove four bolts (14), wire assembly (15), and electrical box (13). Lay electrical box (13) near the generator.

Attach a suitable lifting device to generator (17). The weight of generator (17) is approximately 136 kg (300 lb).
Loosen the clamp at the rear of generator (17) and remove tube (16) .

Remove the screws and plate assembly (18) .

Remove engine mount bolt (19) .

Loosen jam nut (21) and bolt (22) .
Remove the four bolts, the eight washers, and four nuts (20) .

Remove the four bolts, the eight washers, and four nuts (23) .
Remove plate assembly (24) and generator (17) .Installation Procedure
Install generator (17) in the reverse order of the removal procedure.
Use a straight edge to verify that the generator pulley is inline with engine crank pulley.
Tighten bolt (19) to a torque of 240 40 N m (177 30 lb ft).
