THROTTLE AS 20R7246 - Caterpillar

BRAKE ADJUSTMENT: Use the procedure that follows to adjust the steering brakes on D4E Tractors.
1. Tighten the adjusting nut to a torque of 60 14 N m (45 10 lb ft) until the band assembly fits tightly around the brake drum.2. Adjust the vertical rod between the pedal arm and the lower bellcrank to a length of 549.91 mm (21.65"), so the foot contact surface of the brake pedal is 292.1 mm (11.50") from the dash.3. Loosen the adjusting nut on the brake band approximately two and one-half turns, or until the pedal has 76.2 3.05 mm (3.00 .12") "free play" (movement before increased resistance is felt) with the application of 67 N (15 lb) force.
