When submitting claim for Parts Stock Action, Use the appropriate 99Z as the s/n, the appropriate Service Letter Program Number as the Part number in the Part Causing Failure field, "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Description Code.

PROBLEM
Certain 283-9340 Intake Rocker Arm Assemblies used on the C175 engines do not meet hardness requirements. This is discovered upon initial installation as material transfer and surface damage (galling) occurs on the the rocker arm when the adjustment screw locknut is tightened on the rocker arm. This prevents the ability to set the valve lash. The issue is confined to certain rocker arms within the batch of casting with "0H05" marked on them.
Rocker arms from this batch of castings that are currently installed on engines do not need to be replaced.
ACTION REQUIRED
Inspect all 283-9340 Intake Rocker Arm Assemblies in dealer parts stock. All 283-9340 Intake Rocker Arm Assemblies that have an "0H05" marked on it need to be removed from dealer parts stock. Refer to Image1 and Image2 below.
