ECM (24) sends a signal to solenoid (6K) and solenoid (6J). The solenoids are de-energized, causing pilot chambers (30) to open to the hydraulic tank. Valve spool (21) is held in the center position by centering springs (20). In the center position, valve spool (21) blocks pump supply oil. Also, the winch valve spool blocks the oil from flowing to port "A" (8) and port "B" (9) of the winch arrangement. The oil in the passages are trapped and the winch does not move.REEL OUT Position

ECM (24) sends a signal to solenoid (6J). The solenoid is energized, causing the solenoid valve to open in order to allow pilot supply oil in pilot oil passage (11) into pilot chamber (30) on the right end of valve spool (21). The pressure of the pilot oil shifts valve spool (21) to the left.When valve spool (21) shifts, left orifice (36) is exposed to the pressure in the passage to port "A" (8). The oil that enters orifice (36) becomes signal oil. The signal oil flows through an internal passage in the middle of the valve spool (21) to signal chamber (38). From signal chamber (38), the oil flows to spring chamber (32).The signal oil is at the same pressure as the oil in winch arrangement (59).
