Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the flywheel guard.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Note: Mark all the sensors and the connectors. Identify all the sensors for later assembly in the correct location. The sensors (1) and (3) are interchangeable. The sensor (3) is not interchangeable with the other sensors.

Disconnect the electrical wiring to the crank angle sensor (3).
Loosen the locknut. Remove the sensor.
Disconnect the electrical wiring to the speed sensor.
Loosen the locknut. Remove the sensor.
Disconnect the electrical wiring to speed sensor (2).
Loosen the locknut. Remove the sensor. Installation Procedure
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Install the magnetic pickup (1).
Thread the pickup into the hole until the magnet touches the tooth of the gear.
Back out the magnetic pickup by rotating the pickup to 5/8 of a turn.
Install the locknut. Tighten the nut to a torque of 45 7 N m (35 5 lb ft). The clearance will be 0.55 mm (0.022 inch) to 0.83 mm (0.032 inch).
Repeat the same procedure for the magnetic pickups (3) and (2). End By:
