1. Install tool (A) on the elevator chains. Tighten tool (A) until the chain link moves freely. Remove the pins, plates, and links. Move the chains free of the rollers. 2. Fasten a hoist to the roller. Remove four bolts (1) and chain lower roller. Weight is 165 lb. (75 kg). 3. Remove the plug (2). Remove the oil from the roller. 4. Remove cap, washer, and shaft from the roller. 5. Remove the Duo-Cone seals from each side of the caps and roller. 6. Remove two bearings from the roller with tooling (B).Install Elevator Chain Bottom Rollers
1. Lower the temperature of the bearings for the roller. Install the bearings in the roller with tooling (A). 2. Install the Duo-Cone seals in the caps and roller with tool (B). 3. Install the shaft in the roller. Install the washers and caps on each side of the roller. 4. Fasten a hoist to the roller. Put the roller in position on the elevator and install four bolts (1). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 746 to 821 lb.ft. (1011.4 to 1113.1 N m).5. Fill the roller with SAE 80 weight oil and install the plug. 6. Put the chain in position on the roller and install tool (C). Tighten tool (C) until the chain link can be installed. Install the plate and pins that hold the link in the chain.
