Installation Procedure
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Note: Thoroughly clean the mating surfaces of the swing control valve and the rear swing motor.Note: Check the condition of the O-ring seal that is used between the swing control valve and the rear swing motor. Check the condition of the O-ring seals that are used in the ends of all the hose assemblies that are connected to the swing control valve. If any of the seals are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.

Fasten two suitable lifting devices to swing control valve (3). Position swing control valve (3) in place on the rear swing motor. The weight of swing control valve (3) is approximately 50 kg (110 lb).

Install bolts (8) that connect swing control valve (3) to the rear swing motor.

Connect hose assemblies (1), (4), (5), (6), and (7) to swing control valve (3) .
Connect harness assemblies (2) to swing control valve (3) .
Start the machine, and check the operation of the swing drive. Check all hoses and fittings for leaks.
