Information:
Clean the crankcase breather elements and replace the O-ring seals at every oil change. Perform this maintenance when the engine is stopped.If the crankcase breather is not maintained on a regular basis, the crankcase breather will become plugged. A plugged crankcase breather will cause excessive crankcase pressure that may cause crankshaft seal leakage.

Loosen hose clamps (3). Remove tee (2).
Loosen retaining clamps (5). Remove breather assemblies (1) and O-ring seals (4).
Wash the breather elements in clean nonflammable solvent. Inspect tee (2) for cracks that can be caused by vibration. Replace the old tee with a new tee if cracking is found.
Install new O-ring seals (4).
Allow the breather elements to dry before installation. Install the breather assemblies in the original position. Coat the rubber parts with clean engine oil or petroleum jelly in order to make installation easier.
Install the retaining clamps and the hose clamps. See the Service Manual, "Specifications" module for the proper torque.
