Implement Pump Margin Pressure for 950K and 962K Wheel Loaders
2100 kPa (300 psi) Introduction
This method involves measuring the margin pressure with a differential pressure gauge while the implement is in the FLOAT position. The margin pressure is the difference between the implement pump pressure and the pressure in the load sensing line. The load sensing line connects to the pump control valve on the implement pump. Margin pressure must be read while the implement is in the FLOAT position.Required Tools

Part Number Description
1U-5796(1) Pressure Differential Gauge Group
8T-0860(1) Pressure Gauge
(1) The 198-4240 Digital Pressure Indicator is also available.Test Preparation
Machine Preparation for Troubleshooting
Note: Bring the hydraulic oil to normal operating temperature before performing any hydraulic testing. Temperature range for testing is 62° 8°C (144° 14°F).
Move the machine to a smooth horizontal location. Move away from working machines and personnel. Lower the work tools to the ground.
Allow only one operator on the machine. Keep all personnel away from the machine or in the view of the operator.
Engage the parking brake.

Place the steering frame lock in the LOCKED position. Reference: For more information about preparing the machine for troubleshooting, refer to the Service Manual module Testing and Adjusting, "Machine Preparation for Troubleshooting" for the machine that is being serviced.Release System Pressure
Turn the engine start switch key to the ON position.
Move the implement control levers several times through the full range of travel. Movement of the levers will relieve any pressure that may be present in the implement hydraulic system.
Turn the engine start switch key to the OFF position. Test Procedure

(7) Implement pump supply pressure tap
Attach 8T-0860 Pressure Gauge (0 to 40,000 kPa (0 to 5,800 psi)) (1) to the tee on 1U-5796 Pressure Differential Gauge Group (3).
Connect one end of hydraulic line (5) to pressure tap (7). Pressure tap (7) is located on the loader frame near the articulation joint on the right side of the machine. Connect the other end of hydraulic line (5) to the tee on the high-pressure side of pressure differential gauge group (3).
Connect one end of hydraulic line (4) to pressure tap (6). Pressure tap (6) is located at the articulation joint on the right side of the machine. Connect the other end of hydraulic line (4) to the elbow on the low-pressure side of pressure differential gauge group (3). Note: Position the gauge group (3) and hydraulic lines (4, 5) in order to allow a second technician to observe safely and record the pressure readings.
Start the engine and run the engine at high idle.
Position the implement in the FLOAT position.
With the implement in the FLOAT position, check the reading on pressure differential gauge (3). Pressure should read 2100 kPa (300 psi).
